     Cher always laughs when people ask, "Who wears the pants in your family?"

     "We both do." she answers, and this is the actual truth.  She doesn't own a dress so both she and Sonny are always seen in pants.  Their relationship is also one of give and take, although Sonny generally calls the plays concerning their career and Cher certainly has more to say about what goes on around the house.

     They both love Spanish furniture so their new $75,000 home in Encino, California, is totally done in this look.  Months ago, when they had free time, Sonny enjoyed the idea of fooling around and making furniture, but now there's no time for this.

     Currently the pair are facing the cameras making their first motion picture.  "I Got You Babe."  Here's an instance where Sonny made the decision as to what to do.

     "I never have wanted to be a movie star," Cher laughs, "so I guess that's why it's happening to me.  Girls all over the world have dreamed of this and it never happens to them, so I guess because I haven't wanted to be an actress, I'm going to be one.

     Sonny wants to make the film, so we're doing it.  I don't especially care."

     For the millions of fans waiting to see them on the screen.  Sonny and Cher's movie debut is the most eagerly awaited ever since "A Hard Day's Night."  The film's an original story and promises to show Sonny and Cher as they really are.

     Touring around the country has begun to become tiring for Cher who wants very much to make a good home for Sonny.  Since thei success, many jealous people in and around Hollywood have begun to criticize them on the sly and spread rumors about them which have been unpleasant for both Sonny and Cher.

     Someone said that the couple were actually booed when they performed for Princess Margaret at the Hollywood Pallidium.  "I didn't hear any booing," said Sonny.  After the performance, he took Cher dancing at a local nightclub and neither seemed to be upset.

     Cher is concentrating right now on looking the best she can in "I Got You Babe." Her makeup tests and costume tests for the film came out sensationally and she was pleased because her figure looked as streamlined on the screen as it does in real life.  "I was afraid," she laughed, "that the camera would make me look heavier."

     Sonny takes care of all the business details of their life, but once in a while Cher wants specially to record a certain song or make some changes in their act.  When she is insistent about something Sonny gives her the green light and does what she says. 

    "Cher and I never fight each other about important things," Sonny states. "We might get into an argument over who didn't put the cap back on the tooth paste tube, but about important things we talk them out sensibly and decide on what's best.  We cooperate with each other simply with no problems."

    The fans who think Sonny and Cher have changed since becoming successful are right.  "Yes," Cher admits, "I think I've changed since things started happening for Sonny and me.  You get to go and see so many things that you never thought happened and it does change you as a person.  But we haven't changed about the way we feel toward our fans and I think they know this."

     "We want everyone who hears us to like us," Sonny says. "But we know this isn't possible, so we sing and just hope.  But the teens are the ones who we have to thank for our and these are the most important people to us and always will be.  Adults aren't as important to us as teenagers."

     The famous couple are rarely alone anymore.  They are chauffered to and from their engagements and when Sonny's not with her, Cher is driven where she wants to go.

     New people have come into their lives...the hangers-on.  These are the Hollywood 'I Love You When You're On Top' people.  Sonny and Cher are so sweet to everyone that they've discovered that their immediate world is always crowded.  For two people who love each other like Sonny and Cher, this is sometimes difficult.

     Cher's latest passion in collecting beautiful rings.  She'd enjoy being able to wear them on all fingers, but she refrains from doing this for fear she'll wind up looking like RIngo Starr.  Soon, after the first few months of the year, she and Sonny hope to have a line of clothes out bearing their names.  "But right now," Sonny explains "there's so much for us to do that we don't have time to be people.  We had better concentrate on being singers and save the other things for later."

     Sonny and Cher are happy facing the problems of sucess.  It's never easy to be famous and have thousands of people wanting things from you and for you, but if any two can balance success with happiness, it's these two "in love" people who both wear the pants in their family.

EXCITEMENT on stage in the form of Cher Bono is truly something to see.  Show Business experts say that Cher could be a star all on her own without Sonny, but to this she only laughs and says, "no comment."

TENDERNESS is a part of Sonny & Cher's life.  Above (below) you see how sweetly and gently Sonny touches his young wife's hair.  He is trying hard to quit smoking and now only has three a day.

TEARS WERE SHED by Cher the day she had to give her dog away.  She and Sonny were travelling too often to take good care of the dog so she gave him away to one of her dressmakers.  She still sees him often.
